Plastic waste is causing growing environmental concern globally. While mass production and consumption and slow degradability are some of the factors contributing to this problem, insufficient waste management and a lack of efforts to establish holistic and global solutions for sustainability are key aspects of the issue that we should really be focusing on.
In TREASoURcE, we are working on devising environmentally friendly approaches to tackle the plastic problem. Circular plastics being one of the project’s Key Value Chains, we are looking at the overall circularity of different plastic waste types, starting from collection to pretreatment and recycling.
