CBE JU enforces the transition to green economy
In the end of November Circular bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking will take over the activities of BBI JU. The 2 billion partnership between European Union and the Bio-based Industries Consortium will continue as Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU). This new Joint Undertaking is supporting the green transition and environmentally sustainable and more inclusive EU economy with bio-based projects and solutions.
4Recycling is targeting at solving plastics challenge. EU funding through CBE JU will be an important way of realizing the joint targets in the focus areas also in the future. At the moment, two out of five 4Recycling projects are funded by BBI JU. These projects, BIOSWITCH and FRACTION, will continue as planned. “Circular Bio-based Europe, as the former Bio-based Industries Consortium, is an excellent platform for new partnerships and building EU projects. CLIC wants to support its owners and associate members to implement their research strategies through joint research in EU projects as well.” says Jatta Jussila, CEO of CLIC.
The project proposals for CBE JU funded projects will open in second quarter of 2022 based on the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA), which is to be formed during the first and second quarter of 2022. CLIC is reviewing the calls and channels funding opportunities as well as partnerships to the owners and associate members of CLIC.
