Opportunities with the Los Angeles Green New Deal

Team Finland is collaborating with the city of Los Angeles in California to help reduce emissions, specifically around the targets stated in the Los Angeles Green New Deal (LAGND).

Why LA? LA is the third-largest municipal economy in the world, with a population of more than 4 million, around 50,000 city employees, an annual city budget over $11 billion, and the port complexes of Los Angeles and Long Beach, as well as several private terminals, which receive more than 40% of all goods imported into the U.S.  LA also faces significant challenges related to pollution and climate change, however the city has been a global pioneer in sustainability planning and has actively funded pilots and programs to reduce emissions across the board. Team Finland aims to foster the sharing of knowledge and introduce advanced Finnish solutions and technologies to help LA reach their LAGND targets faster.

Team Finland is currently seeking Finnish solutions applicable to LA in these areas: mobility & transit, renewable energy, clean & healthy buildings, and industrial emissions and air quality monitoring. An introductory report on LAGND is available for Finnish companies. If you would like a copy of the report &/or more information, please email: Jennifer.tarkiainen@businessfinland.fi
