The event was organized in cooperation by the Ministry of the Environment, the PlastLIFE project of the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE), and CLIC Innovation’s 4R innovation ecosystem. During the day, participants received up-to-date insights on the legislative situation, regulatory oversight, and perspectives from different sectors on the challenges and opportunities of PPWR.
Industry presentations highlighted both the progress already made and the key concerns, with many sectors emphasizing the need for clear guidance and realistic transition periods. In addition, the requirements related to reuse will call for significant investments in production and logistics. The common message was clear: achieving the objectives of the packaging regulation is challenging and requires practical cooperation, clear interpretations, and sector-specific flexibility.
